Patty Lueken is the only Board Certified Family Lawyer Trial Advocacy attorney in the state of Arkansas. The certification is through the American Bar Association National Board of Legal Specialty and provides assurance to potential clients that Patty has significant experience in Family Law issues. Patty has also written exam questions and graded the writing component for others to become Board Certified since her certification in 1998.   She has also taught Family Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law as an Adjunct Professor.

In addition to the Board Certification, Patty has a Masters in Business Administration, which has proved invaluable in helping to value businesses, read tax returns and find assets. It also gives Patty the ability to communicate with financial professionals and really helps with the cross-examination of witnesses.

Patty’s first love after God, family, and fly fishing is the law, especially litigation. However, in Family Law, the best avenue is to resolve a case amicably if possible. Her first approach is to attempt to settle the case, as long as that is what is in the client’s best interest. If that cannot be done, she will aggressively pursue the litigation avenue.

In order to improve the potential for settlement, Patty received training at Pepperdine University in Collaborative Law in 2002. She was the first lawyer in Arkansas to be trained in Collaborative Law which is a confidential, constructive way to amicably resolve family law issues with dignity, using interest-based negotiations. Decision making is in the hands of the clients, not the Court. Patty is a founding member and officer of Collaborative Family Lawyers of Arkansas.

In her free time, Patty loves to tie flies and fly fish. She teaches these skills on a local to an international level. She loves to catch any fish that bites, but her favorite is smallmouth bass. Patty is married to Whit Lueken and they have one adult child, Whitten Lueken who lives and works in Northwest Arkansas.
